Ergil Group was founded in 1982 by Kerim Altunergil, an experienced mechanical engineer who had worked in several government organizations before entering the private sector. From its humble beginnings as a contractor for government projects, Mr. Altunergil has created a business, which provide products and services to the energy, utilities and chemicals industries. Over the years Ergil Group established itself as the leading supplier and contractor to energy and utilities industries in Turkey.
Today Ergil Group is managed by the second generation of the Altunergil family who have transformed the company into a business that also competes in the international markets. The new generation started the transformation of the company by increasing the quality of the company's products and services to be able to compete with international competitors. Ergil has succeeded in increasing its overall quality by adding experienced staff to the company's workforce and putting in place policies that enforce best practices at every stage of the company's operations.
Ergil has demonstrated its quality with the certificates it has acquired over the years, most important of which being the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:1999 certificate. By applying the requirements of this certificate Ergil is able to ensure high quality in all its activities including documentation, engineering, design, manufacturing, marketing and sales. As an ISO 9001 certified business, Ergil then concentrated on acquiring internationally recognized quality certificates for its product range.
Ergil Group is structured as a main company with four distinct subdivisions. These subdivisions are Storage Tank Safety & Process Equipment under the brand name Storagetech®, Pressure Vessels and Pipeline Equipment under the brand name Rhino®, Cathodic Protection and Corrosion Prevention Systems under the brand name Ergil Corrosion® and Bulk Storage Tank Design and Construction under the brand name Ergil Engineering and Construction®.
Ergil Group operates out of its headquarters in Istanbul, Turkey – the heart of business in Turkey and a uniquely positioned location with proximity to Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Ergil's design and engineering group is also situated in its headquarters which allows Ergil to perform almost all engineering and design work in-house without needing third party companies for these tasks.
Ergil Group performs it manufacturing activities in two main manufacturing facilities; a 2,000 square meter facility in Istanbul and a 32 acres facility in Mersin with a current covered area of 2500 square meters. Both facilities benefit from being close to international ports and airports as well as being in industrialized cities with readily available labor. The Mersin facility is also very close to the Middle East and is a preferred port of exports to that area. In addition to the already available working area in its Mersin facilities, Ergil Group is in the process of building a state of the art manufacturing factory on its land located in the Tarsus Industrial Zone. The company has purchased a similar lot at the new industrial zone nearby with plans for future expansion there.
All Ergil facilities are connected to each other with a computer network which allows its staff to communicate in real time and exchange information and documents easily.
Ergil believes that a local presence in its target markets is a major requirement and has established offices in Dubai to cater to the Middle Eastern market, in Germany to serve the European market, and in Singapore to reach the Asian market. Ergil also cooperates with local representatives in a number of other countries offering products and services backed by a local organization.
